Terms of Service
The rules that govern how you use Katoola Events as a customer or organiser.

Welcome to Katoola Events ("Katoola", "we", "our", or "us"). Katoola is owned and operated by LevelOn Capital. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Katoola platform, including our website, applications, ticketing systems, organiser tools, communication systems, and related services. By accessing or using Katoola, you agree to these Terms and all related policies referenced within them. If you do not agree, you may not use the platform.
1. About Katoola
Katoola is an event discovery, ticketing, and event infrastructure platform that helps organisers create, promote, manage, and monetise events.
Katoola operates as a controlled marketplace platform.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- Katoola is not the organiser of third-party events,
- Katoola is not the venue operator,
- Katoola does not manage venue operations,
- and organisers remain independently responsible for the events they host.
2. Eligibility
By using Katoola, you confirm that:
- you have legal capacity to enter binding agreements,
- your information is accurate and current,
- and your use of the platform complies with applicable laws.
Katoola may impose:
- age restrictions,
- geographic restrictions,
- verification requirements,
- or additional eligibility conditions for certain services or events.
3. Accounts & Registration
Some platform features require account registration.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials,
- all activity conducted through your account,
- and keeping your information accurate and up to date.
Katoola reserves the right to:
- suspend,
- restrict,
- merge,
- terminate,
- or remove accounts involved in:
- fraud,
- abuse,
- duplication,
- misleading activity,
- policy violations,
- or operational risk.
4. Organiser Accounts & Verification
Organisers using monetised or operational platform features may be required to complete verification procedures including:
- identity verification,
- phone verification,
- banking verification,
- business verification,
- and compliance reviews.
Katoola may:
- approve or reject organiser applications,
- deny verification,
- request additional documentation,
- restrict monetisation features,
- or suspend organiser access where reasonably necessary.
Verification does not constitute endorsement, certification, or guarantee by Katoola.
5. Marketplace Structure
Katoola operates as a controlled event marketplace platform.
Organisers remain independently responsible for:
- event execution,
- venue management,
- staffing,
- permits,
- licensing,
- crowd control,
- security,
- attendee safety,
- accessibility,
- alcohol compliance,
- emergency planning,
- tax obligations,
- and legal compliance relating to their events.
Katoola provides:
- ticketing infrastructure,
- organiser tools,
- discovery systems,
- communication systems,
- moderation systems,
- and related marketplace services.
6. Tickets & Event Access
Tickets issued through Katoola are revocable licences granting limited rights to attend specific events.
Tickets may not be:
- transferred,
- resold,
- duplicated,
- redistributed,
- or commercially exploited without approval from Katoola.
Possession of a ticket does not guarantee admission.
Katoola and organisers reserve the right to:
- deny entry,
- invalidate tickets,
- revoke tickets,
- or restrict access where reasonably necessary due to:
- fraud,
- abuse,
- duplicate ticket activity,
- payment reversals,
- policy violations,
- or safety concerns.
Organisers remain responsible for venue admission procedures and operational entry enforcement.
7. Payments, Refunds & Settlements
Payments processed through Katoola may involve third-party payment providers.
Katoola:
- is not a bank or financial institution,
- does not store full payment method information,
- and does not guarantee uninterrupted payment-provider availability.
Paid public events listed on Katoola must use authorised Katoola payment systems unless expressly approved otherwise.
Refunds may be:
- reviewed,
- delayed,
- denied,
- facilitated,
- or enforced by Katoola depending on:
- organiser conduct,
- event status,
- fraud investigations,
- legal obligations,
- or operational considerations.
Katoola reserves the right to issue refunds without organiser approval where reasonably necessary.
Organisers remain primarily responsible for:
- refunds,
- event fulfilment,
- chargebacks,
- disputes,
- and organiser-related financial liabilities.
Katoola may:
- delay payouts,
- suspend settlements,
- withhold funds,
- pause transactions,
- or apply reserve controls during investigations or risk reviews.
Standard organiser payouts are generally processed approximately three (3) business days after successful event completion verification.
8. Event Changes & Cancellations
Organisers may not unilaterally cancel paid public events after ticket sales begin without platform review.
Katoola reserves the right to:
- review cancellation requests,
- intervene in event disputes,
- determine refund handling,
- delay payouts,
- suspend organiser activity,
- or remove events where reasonably necessary.
Katoola is not responsible for losses arising from:
- event cancellations,
- postponements,
- venue changes,
- performer changes,
- scheduling conflicts,
- or organiser decisions.
9. Platform Rules & Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- engage in fraud,
- abuse the platform,
- manipulate rankings,
- scrape platform data,
- create fake accounts,
- distribute malicious software,
- automate unauthorised ticket purchases,
- bypass platform systems,
- or violate applicable laws.
Katoola reserves the right to:
- investigate suspicious activity,
- restrict accounts,
- limit purchases,
- block transactions,
- apply trust penalties,
- reduce visibility,
- or permanently suspend users and organisers where reasonably necessary.
10. Prohibited Events & Activities
Katoola may prohibit, reject, suspend, or remove events involving:
- unlawful activity,
- fraud,
- hate speech,
- violence,
- unlawful gambling,
- deceptive schemes,
- intellectual property infringement,
- public safety risks,
- or conduct inconsistent with platform standards.
Legality alone does not guarantee platform approval.
11. Discovery, Rankings & Promotional Placement
Katoola may:
- rank,
- recommend,
- feature,
- suppress,
- prioritise,
- or categorise events using:
- platform algorithms,
- editorial decisions,
- commercial promotion systems,
- behavioural signals,
- engagement metrics,
- trust indicators,
- risk assessments,
- and operational considerations.
Visibility is not guaranteed.
Paid promotion may influence placement and exposure.
Sponsored placement does not constitute endorsement by Katoola.
12. Communications
Katoola may contact users and organisers through:
- email,
- SMS,
- WhatsApp,
- push notifications,
- and platform messaging systems
for:
- operational,
- transactional,
- security,
- compliance,
- support,
- and promotional purposes.
Certain operational communications may be mandatory for platform use.
13. Intellectual Property
The Katoola platform, including:
- software,
- branding,
- infrastructure,
- workflows,
- algorithms,
- recommendation systems,
- moderation systems,
- UI/UX,
- databases,
- analytics,
- operational systems,
- and related intellectual property
remain the exclusive property of LevelOn Capital and/or Katoola Events.
Users and organisers may not:
- scrape,
- reverse engineer,
- clone,
- reproduce,
- commercially exploit,
- or misuse the platform or its systems without written permission.
14. User Content
Users and organisers retain ownership of content they submit.
By submitting content to Katoola, you grant Katoola a non-exclusive right to:
- host,
- display,
- distribute,
- promote,
- optimise,
- categorise,
- market,
- and use such content for platform operation and promotion.
Katoola may:
- resize,
- translate,
- adapt,
- reformat,
- or optimise submitted content for operational or technical purposes.
15. AI Systems, Analytics & Platform Intelligence
Katoola may use:
- AI systems,
- recommendation engines,
- automated moderation,
- behavioural analytics,
- fraud detection systems,
- and operational intelligence tools
as part of platform operations.
Katoola retains ownership of:
- aggregated analytics,
- marketplace intelligence,
- operational insights,
- recommendation intelligence,
- behavioural models,
- fraud-detection systems,
- and derived platform intelligence generated through operation of the platform.
16. Third-Party Services
Platform availability may depend on third-party providers including:
- payment providers,
- SMS providers,
- hosting providers,
- telecommunications providers,
- internet infrastructure,
- and external systems.
Katoola does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of third-party services.
17. Suspension & Enforcement
Katoola reserves the right to:
- investigate,
- restrict,
- suspend,
- terminate,
- or permanently ban accounts, organisers, events, or transactions where reasonably necessary for:
- fraud prevention,
- safety,
- abuse prevention,
- operational integrity,
- legal compliance,
- reputational protection,
- or platform security.
Katoola may also:
- freeze payouts,
- preserve records,
- cooperate with lawful authority requests,
- and refuse future platform access.
18. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Katoola provides the platform on an "as available" and "as is" basis.
Katoola does not guarantee:
- uninterrupted availability,
- event quality,
- venue suitability,
- organiser reliability,
- performer attendance,
- admission success,
- or uninterrupted third-party infrastructure availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Katoola is not liable for:
- organiser conduct,
- venue incidents,
- attendee behaviour,
- weather,
- transport issues,
- accommodation issues,
- security incidents,
- alcohol-related incidents,
- force majeure events,
- third-party failures,
- indirect losses,
- lost profits,
- reputational harm,
- or consequential damages.
Katoola's total liability shall be limited to the amount paid to Katoola relating to the relevant transaction or service to the extent permitted by applicable law.
19. Indemnity
Organisers and users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Katoola and LevelOn Capital against claims, disputes, losses, liabilities, penalties, costs, and damages arising from:
- event activity,
- organiser conduct,
- fraud,
- legal violations,
- intellectual property disputes,
- attendee claims,
- chargebacks,
- or misuse of the platform.
20. Force Majeure
Katoola is not liable for failures, delays, interruptions, cancellations, or losses caused by events outside reasonable control, including:
- weather,
- internet outages,
- power failures,
- government action,
- civil unrest,
- pandemics,
- strikes,
- venue shutdowns,
- infrastructure failures,
- or third-party service disruptions.
21. Record Retention
Katoola may retain:
- transaction records,
- moderation logs,
- investigation data,
- operational records,
- and compliance records
where reasonably necessary for:
- legal defence,
- fraud prevention,
- compliance,
- dispute resolution,
- operational integrity,
- and platform security.
Deleted content may continue to exist temporarily in:
- backups,
- archives,
- logs,
- caches,
- or operational systems.
22. Dispute Resolution
Users and organisers agree to first attempt informal resolution through Katoola support before initiating formal legal proceedings.
Katoola reserves the right to internally review disputes, fraud concerns, operational complaints, and compliance issues.
23. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malawi.
Users and organisers agree that disputes relating to the platform are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malawi unless otherwise required by applicable law.
24. Changes to Terms
Katoola may:
- update,
- modify,
- replace,
- or revise
these Terms and related policies over time.
Continued use of the platform after updates may constitute acceptance of revised Terms.
Katoola may provide notice of material changes through:
- platform notices,
- email,
- SMS,
- WhatsApp,
- or other reasonable communication channels.
25. General Provisions
Failure by Katoola to enforce any provision does not waive its right to enforce it later.
If any provision of these Terms becomes invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
These Terms, together with related policies and incorporated rules, form the complete agreement between Katoola and users regarding platform use.
Section headings are provided for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
